Program Description
The Packed Column Calculator program performs hydraulic design and rating calculations for packed columns and towers. The design basis for new columns can be approach to flood, maximum capacity or pressure drop. S.I., Metric and English units are supported and the program can convert between these system of units.
The program includes an extensive illustrated database of packing types, but custom data can be used as well. The Eckert and Robbins correlations are both included to cover the full range of liquid flowrates. Calculated results can be printed in tabular form, and plotted as a Generalised Pressure Drop Correlation diagram or as an Operating Diagram.
A detailed illustrated manual and tutorial are included in Word v6 format. Registration cost is US$80-00 for a single user licence and US$250-00 for a site licence.

The PackCol program operates under Windows 3.1x, 95, 98 and NT.
Download an Evaluation Copy
The Packed Column Calculator program is distributed as shareware. The evaluation version is fully functional (except for a limited range of packing factors) and is designed for you to be able to thoroughly evaluate the program. The evaluation copy will operate for at least 30 days. At the end of that time (or preferably during that time!) you can purchase the registered version which eliminates the shareware reminders and the time limit.
Thanks to the power of the Internet you can receive the registered version within minutes of deciding to purchase it. Full details on the licence conditions and ordering procedures are given below.
The evaluation version of PackCol is contained in a single ZIP file of 730 KB. After you have downloaded the file you should copy it to a temporary directory and unZIP it and then run the INSTALL program.
You can download the evaluation version now from either Simtel or ASMEor Chempute.
Ordering Your Registered Copy of PackCol
You can pay for your registered copy in many different ways. These are discussed in detail in the manual included with the package. However, the easiest way to order is right here on the WWW, using your credit card.Registration cost is US$80-00 for a single user licence and US$250-00 for a site licence.

Once we receive confirmation of your order from the agent, we will send you your permanent password.
